2012 Summer Retreat on Lake Atitlan GUATEMALA:
for EDUCATORS & LOVERS of CULTURE, TEXTILES, FOLK ART, HUMANITARIAN PROJECTS & WELLNESS PRACTICES
Regarded as “Eden on Earth” by the Lonely Planet, this mile high area, (too high for mosquitoes) is known as the land of Eternal Spring. We will combine the themes of each retreat with time for relaxation & renewal, options of many styles of bodywork, shopping, reading in a hammock, hiking, kayaking, dancing, yoga or meditation in glorious settings.
Retreat, July 13th-22nd, is designed for educators working with children and teens with a focus on both personal & professional transformation. We will combine the highly lauded and researched training of Yoga Calm® and foundational breathwork with majestic beauty, tranquility and culture. CEU’s and graduate credit available.
Each day our senses will come more alive as we savor delicious, fresh and healthy cuisine and bask in the rich, colorful culture and beauty surrounding us. We are holding the retreats in the middle of July, as traditionally, in the midst of the rainy season (my favorite time to be at the lake), there are usually two weeks of no rain, called the canicula. When it does rain in July, it is normally a shower in mid-afternoon, clearing up for sunset. Often we listen to rain at night and then every morning dawns sunny and bright. Some of the lakes most spectacular sunrises and sunsets occur in July.
