Educating the Whole Child
In order to facilitate optimal growth, we need to address the needs of the whole child equally:
PHYSICAL, MENTAL and EMOTIONAL
Yoga is based on the belief that all children want to learn and are innately motivated to do so when they feel safe, supported as a member of a community and appropriately stimulated.
Many studies have shown that greatest brain growth happens when the body engages in complex movement patterns (Ratey, John, SPARK: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain, 2008). When these movements are integrated with positive affirmations and community team building, we see children connecting on a deeper level and ready to learn. They then experience what it means to be focused, calm, and connected.
